Well..... Having a 10 gallon, it just didn't seem practical to have a 250 watt halogen bulb hanging over water in my room. So I went CF, which has given me good growth rates, but not amazing color. In any case I decided to fix that. I jumped on the band wagon of LED's to see how effective they were. Lets just say a 3 watt royal blue with all the other lights off in my tank, nearly blinded me with color when I learned my Zoanthid had 4 different colors.... ::face palm::
In any case here is my project light.

Random transformer in my room, probably going to switch out for a better one. Currently 9v at 850milli amps.
Intel p4 stock heat sink. ( plenty of room for 4 Led's and has sleek DC fan that attaches on the top. It was collecting dust in my closet.)
Electrical tape- already had
PC thumb screws- already had
Used my dads drill press, and tapped the screws just using a strong metal screw.
and of course Arctic silver.
There's still some things left in this project. I need to add side skirts so I'm not blinded when viewing my tank. Going to replace the thumb screws with real screw. I also need to make something to hang it from. I might add another heat sink and have it put on the other half of my tank with 3 leds. Also I'm going to epoxy or just use a glue gun and seal the copper in because I'm aware inverts are sensitive to copper. I also might add another royal blue. I really have no need for LED's as growth lights except on my one SPS as a boost.
even then, I have a 2x65 watt CF light system. So I'm trying to restrain myself to 6 Led's maximum. Any ways, I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for the guides posted on the forums. First time poster, long time reader.
