Siren's eye
Hi everyone! I'm setting up a 5.5 gallon that I want to keep a mantis and a bunch of soft corals in. I have one problem I can't decide if I just want to have a koralia PH in it, or an aquaclear 70 on the back as a fuge. I like the PH idea but I want the benefits of a fuge. I would use an aquaclear but I HATE HOB filters. I think they are uglier than a big ol' powerhead in the display. Are there any other options for me?? Something that could hang on the side of the tank and be its own algae/pod biotope? Maybe someone knows where I can get a small custome made fuge?

That is far too large an in-tank 'fuge for a 5.5 AGA. The smaller of the two is 8x4x8, and a 5.5 AGA is 16x8x10.

However ugly a HOB looks, an in-tank 'fuge is going to look worse on a 5.5, so I'd still go with the modded AC HOB.
