I a going to Sacramento on sunday and i am hopefully geting either a frogspawn or hammer coral. There are many aquarium shops in Sac so I will be shopping around looking for the best deal.
My question is what should I expect to pay for each of these corals? Also which one would you suggest for nano aquarium (14 gallons) Thank You.

Forggy's have longer tentacles while hammers have shorter ones with a more rounded tip. thus "hammer head"

The Frogspawn and Torch are often confused. Very similar pieces with the same tank requirements in general.

they should all be close in price per head. it will just depend on the size of the coral itself. around here locals sell it for $5 a head.

They run anywhere from 20 up to 100 around here based on size
Look at some of the sponsors sites to get a guage for price

The hammer will have only 1 tip per tentacle, the frog can bud more tips off each tentacle, either will look nice in your tank, the torches can grow pretty large and will sting other corals so I'd go for the frog or hammer in your size tank. All 3 are in the same family though so you can usually get away w/ all 3 touching each other and not worry about them hurting each other.

No idea what prices are out there. I recently paid $30 for a frogspawn with 2 large heads and about 4 really small ones (which I should frag and grow out).
Awesome coral though. Close up incredibly fast when the lights go off and within an hour of them coming on during they they're huge again. It's been fun to watch it adjust to my light schedule. Before lights come on you can see it starting to fill out, and at night, about a half hour before they shut off it's like it's "winding down" and starts to retract.
Love mine. For most they're a dime a dozen, but for a new guy like me it's fun to watch.
Edit: My avatar shows my frogspawn. As someone else said, you can see how multiple heads wil come off of one tentacle. Also has rounded tips as opposed to hammer-shaped ones.
