whats the big deal about ice cap ballasts vs workhorse, if im biulding a t5 system?

Depends. If you are looking at comparing ballasts like the Fulham Workhorse 5 to the Icecap 430, then not much difference other than maybe a little higher quality on the Icecap ballast. Either will work fine. If you are looking to overdrive, you need the Icecap 660. There isn't an equivalent from Fulham. The Icecaps are dimmable when using VHOs.

awesome. so a workhorse 3 & 5, would do fine untill I can afford the 660 x2.
