I was just browsing online at linens and things and noticed they have aquariums stuff. Type in the search box on top the word "aquarium" and watch how many fixtures show up. The first one i saw was the Nova T5.
I think personally these prices are cheap from what i've seen at aquarium sites.
Let me know what you think.

I'm actually new to the forum, my tank is still in the process of being set up, i just made this post because i came across some cheap equipment. Id say go with 2x18w for the tank, the more light the better choice of corals you can keep. But i'll let someone else give you their input.
Good Luck

That would be perfect djorijun. The only thing better would be led's. Maybe a DIY job or some powerbrites.

@Johnnydee I was reading about LED's DIY but that ish is EXPENSIVE. I thought about the PowerBrites cause it's within my budget.
@Chris92486 I didn't see anything with 2x18w I'll keep looking.
Also if your oder is over $50 use TRYUS

LED PAR38 bulb from nanocustoms or nanotuners on that 5.5 would be my choice. You spend a bit more ($120), but you don't have to replace the bulbs or pay for the power (huge plus over time), and you won't have this huge fixture to deal with.

I'm a huge proponent of customer relationship management. It's as good for the consumer as it is for the producer.

What do you mean I wouldn't have to replace it? It last forever or something?

djorijun, the diy job is expensive and linens and things sells the powerbrites for like i think it's $50 a pop! Very good deal. Put them high up though. Maybe build a hood and hang it above the tank. Just my 2 cents.

LED life in a PAR38 probably around 10 years possibly more. I'll bet that the PAR38 will last longer than the tank is setup that you originally bought it for. Halides/T5 are 8 months. Look up the costs of bulb replacements. LED pay for themselves after 1 maybe 2 bulb replacements. Not to mention heat/electric.

Expensive up front yup, but long run it depends on how long you use the LEDs.

Linens and Things is owned by the same company as Pet Mountain which is why their prices are low. Linens and things went bankrupt last year and the domain was snatched up by another company. If you look at the websites they are the same. The same thing happend to CompUSA and Circuit City. Just wanted to let you know where you are actually buying from.

I thought the feel of the LnT website seemed familiar, I just couldn't remember where I knew it from.

Yeah when I looked at the site, I said wait a minute I have seen this before. Nothing wrong with Pet Mountain BTW although I have read of some bad reviews on the net. I looked into buying items form them but decided to go with the Foster and Smith.
