hey guys i have a 8 week old tank and i have a problem with green hair algae on my rocks. I have heard that this is common in the early stages and that it will go away in a few weeks? Is this true or should i move in the direction of manually removing most of it by scrubbing the rocks?
Here is a pic

You could add some hermits.

It wouldnt hurt. Im actually going through the same problem right now, I took the rocks out when I did a water change and used the old water in a bucket along with a toothbrush and removed about 90% of it. It takes a little while though hope you have about an hour to spare.

Since you don't have anything in your tank, take the LR out and scrub a dub-dub and do frequent 30% water changes. Hair algae is common at this stage and is referred to as "new tank syndrome". Or you could dose vodka and MB7....JK JK JK
