Alright so I finally found my roaming gorilla crab... He dug a hole under my blastomussa merletti colony, which is about an inch or two away from shelter. If I pull up the rock really fast, can I grab him with my hands or will he beat me up? And how fast can he run? I don't want him escaping and not seeing him for another couple of months.

There are thousands of different varieties of crabs that look very similar, many of them harmless. Are you sure this guy's a bad guy?

Yeah, many are pretty harmless. If it's in an easily accessable spot, I'd leave it for now. If it does end up doing damage you can remove it then.
I had one and it didn't bother anything but frags. The only reason it destroyed the frags was to build up it's hiding place entrance. It would drag them to the mouth of the hole along with small chunks of LR. They would end up dying from lack of light. The crab never even bothered the clownfish pair.
I did end up killing it, however. Once it killed a $50 frag, all sympathy was lost. I caught it by hand and it didn't hurt when it pinched me. So, I say if it causes damage, stop being a wuss and grab it with your hand.

Ahh the crab broke my thumb!!
JK, I picked it up and threw it in a cup... it's grey, hairy, has pointy claws, and red eyes. But I have somebody picking it up tommorrow, with my yellow clown goby who has to eat my acans
