Hello all. I am new to this forum. I have recently acquired a JBJ 28 gallon AIO and want to get started. I am new to reef keeping, I have been FW for years and currently have a 330 gallon Discus tank that is my baby. I have always wanted to do salt but I have been afraid of it. A friend of mine in a local aquarium club has been pushing me into salt so I am finally taking the plunge, but I wanted to start off small so I can get my feet wet. I am open to all kinds of comments and suggestions. I have been creeping on here for a few days trying to gather as much information as possible and I must say the library is very helpful. I still want to more research before actually getting started which should be at the beginning of next year. Below is a pic of my tank. It comes stock with 105W PC bulbs with 2 10K Daylight and 2 7100K Actinic. I plan on building my own refugium out of a 5 gallon tank that will go in the stand as well as a ATO reservoir using a 5 gallon tank. My plans of stock are as follows. Corals: Toadstool leather, Zoanthids, GSP, Torch coral, Sun polyps, and maybe some shrooms. I want to have a trio of clowns, a couple of gobies, skunk shrimp, and snails. I would also like to keep an anemone. How does my choices sound is there anything else I might be able to add given my choices? Also is the stock lights good enough for my selection? As I said any and all suggestions are welcomed.

first, the anemone- nano tanks arent the best enviroments because of the tight space, since one little 'walk' around the tank and you've lsot most of your corals. the light should be fine though, with 4 bulbs, even if they are PC. I didnt know they came with four bulbs, I thought it was 2 or MH.
the trio of clowns in VERY unlikely to work long-run. I tried the same thing in a 75g, where the clowns had countless other 'dither' fish to distract them (most were bigger then them, like wrasses, two species of angels, though there were some firefish and a goby) and still, after a few months the dominant female tried to kill both the others. her aggression caused the male to turn against the no-gendered juvi, but as soon as she was removed, the other two calmed down and settled in together.
most of the orals sound fine, however, what do you mean by sun polyps? if you mean the LPS species sun corals, then you need to make sure you can feed them daily with meaty foods like enriched mysis shrimp. also, make sure you really like the GSP before you get it, because it will take over your tank pretty quickly.

Having a trio of clowns may not be the best thing, may cause jelousy bitten fins etc, as far as inverts go that should be good, (for snails try 1 per 4 gallons I do that in my 12g NC)
but check how many gobies you want and their agressiveness etc before you add them in. Also beaware of over stocking

I believe you are right its the LPS ones like this one
