Alright so this weekend i am hopefully getting a new clownfish and a hammer coral for my biocube 14. The tank will be up for 5 weeks as of the weekend. And i have had a false percula clown in there for a week I was wondering if my tank is ready for the new hammer coral i was planning on getting and another fish. Thanks

Are you sure your tank has cycled? and it seems fine. The clowns will get agressive so that should be it in your tank.

When I added clowns at different times the one that was there first harassed the other one so bad I had to take her out. I would take it slow on adding fish, they are in there forever and hard to take out.

Hmmm...
A few things. Make sure that the new clown you add is the same species as the clown you have. Adding different kinds in a small tank could raise aggression.
When you add your clown, you may find it necessary to re-arrange your rockwork to reset any territory the current clown has established.
Finally, your tank will probably be fine with the hammer coral. When you say "and a new fish" are you referring to the second clown? I wouldn't put more fish than just the 2 clowns in that tank honestly.

try to get clowns the same size, reduces fighting.

I wouldn't count on it...
Other than regular water changes hammer corals shouldn't require any special additives.

Well i've been doing some more reasearch and I think im gonna get a Frogspawn instead. Because it is less agressive(I hope) and prettier. So again about the Clown hosting a Frogspawn is there really no chance of him hosting. Is there anything I can do to encourage the clown to host the coral. Also heres my weekend plan.
Friday:Pick up another False Percula Clown
Saturday: Watch my beautiful new clowns interact
Sunday:First Coral! Frogspawn hopefully from O street aquarium
Next Weekend: Pick up Biocube Protein Skimmer
Everything sound good? Anything else I should do prior to the arrival of the new coral?

eh idk if I would say that frogspawn is less aggressive than hammer coral...hammer may have more potent sting but they are all in the same genus (euphyllia=torch, hammer, frogspawn.) and pretty much identical in terms of aggressiveness. flow and placement can dictate how long their sweeper tentacles will be and in exchange determine how aggressive they will be as well.

So high flow = shorter sweeper tentacles or the other way around?

My personal experience with clowns and frogspawns have been bad....ever soo offen the clown would bite off tentecals....and cause the frogspawn to receed. Needless to say I gave back the clown for store credit.

Well today I picked up another clown today. Guy at store said they would be aggressive. any idea how to reduce aggression short of redoing rock scape?
