Currently feeding my single Ocellaris Piscine Mysis which he loves, but trying to get him to eat Thera+A pellets. He always grabs them, but quickly spits them out, letting them fall to the sand. I've been alternating shrimp/pellets for a week, but he hasn't swallowed a single pellet.
Should I starve him until he eats the pellets?

I want him to accept pellets for when we will be gone for 2 weeks after my wedding this Jan. Much easier to have a non-reefer toss in a couple pellets than mess with fresh food.

I've read some threads saying they can last at least a week without food, but I want him used to the pellets now.

Can you feed him regular old flakes? Mine have always taken those. Of course, mine eats pellets too, so...

He never touched flakes before, but I tried again today and he gobbled down a big one. Also ate a couple Mysis, but still won't do more than bite and spit on the pellets.

So how do I get him to eat the &%!$ pellets?

Why bother if he takes flakes? Anyone can feed those no problem, right?

Yeah, I guess. But seeing as that was the first time he's ever eaten them I'm not real sure.

Plus I bought a huge container of pellets, which should be better for him, and were expensive so he better eat them ! (the cleaner shrimps love them of course)
