I got these through N-R from Calvin415 (who, by the way, is a great seller).

Unfortunately, they haven't opened up for me. I know I've lost at least a couple of the polyps that were on it, but from what I understand this is two or three more that are closed up still on the frag plug. It's been a couple weeks and I've seen no signs of them opening up, until today. They seem to be a bit more open then they have been.

Am I crazy, or is there still a chance (after 2 weeks) that they'll pull through?

They're radioactive dragon eye zoas....Thoughts?

Mr. Fosi
There's a chance.

As long as there is still flesh they can come back. I've had some melt into nothing but a small spot of flesh and they grew back.

looks promising.. how close are they to the light? I had some in similar condition that didn't open until i moved them down to the sandbed.

Well that's good news. I've got them on a magnetic cleaner rack....should I have them up in the tank, towards the bottom? Higher or lower flow? I know zoas are versatile, but is there anywhere I can put em to help them recover?

Right now they're right near the middle of the tank (20L). Final placement will be near the bottom...best to put them there now?

Okay....I think I might be okay. In the last 30 minutes they've gone from completely closed to opening. I went ahead and moved them down in the tank. Hopefully in the next couple hours they'll maintain this progress...

I figured after the first 4 days that I'd lost them...So glad I didn't toss the plug like I was thinking about. Calvin415 had been gracious enough to offer a free frag after I told him this one hadn't made it. I told him I'd wait it out and see what happened. Looks like (at least 2 or 3 of the 5 or 6 original polyps) will survive.

personally i would leave them where they are , as you have already had them there 2 weeks and they're starting to open, why chance stressing them out more
