First off let me say i am a first time poster but a months long lurker. Great info i have found on this forum so i figured i come to yall with my first DIY and first LED question

I have had great luck with my first salt water tank a 20gallon reef set up (will post pictures asap now that i actually have a log in) but am thinking about starting up a mini reef tank

I have a custom made 3.5 gallon and am wanting to make a canopy/LED light set up for it...
at first i had purchased 3 mini compact florescent and had a drawing set out to make a top with that ... however LED's look cleaner and possibly something i am considering...

I see SEVERAL diy projects with LEDs but they seem to be for the experienced DIY'er that knows the terminology already and has some previous experience with LED's.
and that leads me to my questions...

Is there a post/site/mentor that can point me in the right direction on what to buy and where?

any help would be so greatly appreciated

There is a ton of information in the lighting forum. Check the LED Guide, and the DIY LED Project List. That's a great place to start your research.
