Going to use a 5 gallon bucket as a sump/refugium on my fluval edge. wondering if any one has good reccomendations for a return pump.

Should be capable of doing about 3 or 4 feet of head pressure... but obviously not producing a riptide in the tank in terms of volume released back into it.

The drain is 1/2 inch.

You won't need much... I think the Quiet One series are decent. I have a 1200 and I think it comes with 1/2" barb fittings. Might be 3/4 though.

mj1200, imo. perfect amount of flow at 4ft, if my water changes are any indication.

Thanks Guys! A Maxijet was along the lines of what i was thinking, just wasn't sure how it would react to head pressure. never used one for anything but circulation or in my CO2 Reactor.

Was also worried because every Maxi i have ever seen has had the hole in the return spout for inserting an air hose, not seeing how i would form a good seal there.

oh i just realized from looking at it at Marine Depot that it's a detachable part now.

Fantastic!
