I set up a 14g BioCube a few months ago. I used existing live sand, rock and water from my 75g that has been set up for a year. I aquired this tank. It is fully stock. I just replaced the bulbs. I think I want to replace the return pump with a better one like a maxi jet. I want to set this up as a reef tank. I have a clownfish and a Dwarf Flame Angel. Normally I wouldnt consider putting the angel in there but it was a temp until I got rid of an angel thats in my 75 but the flame is so tiny and has been this way for a while so I think im gonna keep him in there. I also have some scarelt reef, some halloween crabs and turbo/margarita snails in there. I was dosing the water but was told to stop because the water i use from my 75 will pretty much dose it for me. I also have red/watermelon/purple mushrooms and GSP in there. I really want some Ricordia's that I found cheap in the area. Any reccomandations that I can do to my BioCube. It's been set up for about 4 months now and didn't even do a cycle because it's from an existing tank. Thanks.

Oh I also placed some LR in the middle chamber in the back and removed all the bio balls.

Don't assume the angel will stay "tiny". Stunting for a fish is abnormal. Besides, dwarf angels like a lot of swimming room, and I can imagine yours must be pacing around the tank. Moreover, the angel may nip on your corals.

Ricordias are a good choice.

That's I plan on moving him to my 75 but I'm worried that my Koran Angel will mess with him. Eventually I am planning on getting rid of my Koran because when I bought him I didn't research him first and realized how big he gets.

angle ina bio cube not a good idea...speacially for a reef setup ...i dnt recomend ..angels will nip on ur corals and will not be happy in a small tank...
i hve a 14 galon bio cube aswell....its a good tank for a reef setup but angels not a good choice bc ur gone hve to force ur self to keep the water parameters upto date with that bioload......

Cool shrooms. The previous comment about the angel is a good one.

I want to move him into the 75 but I'm worried that the Koran Angel and him will fight.

The Koran shouldn't bother it since the flame is a Centropyge angel and the Koran is a Pomacanthus.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the aggression is mostly inter-genus.

Somewhere (I forgot which forum) there is a guy with a huge angelfish tank and he explains the "rules" of mixing marine angelfish.

SImilar body shapes generally fight.

But, they're quite dissimilar size-wise.

I can't find the "angel only tank" I was hoping to find, but here's a decent link from WWM:

I'm just thinking that of the 2 places for it to end up, the flame angel would be better off in the 75. Of course the final call is the OP though.

My sand keeps getting this brown/stuff forming on the top. I have N snails but they stay below. Whats a good invert/fish for a 14g to get rid of this?

The brown stuff sounds like diatoms to me. Your tank isn't done maturing yet, give it more time before you start adding to it.
