If anything, a both of the species of wrasse you listed are beneficial to the clam. They control pyramelllid snails, which can kill a clam quite quickly. These wrasses also control commensal flatworm populations and the yellow coris will eat montipora-eating nudibranchs when it is small. BTW the yellow coris is actullay not a "true" coris wrasse as it is from the Halichoeres genus. I had an aggressive sixline that mysteriously disappeared so I bought a H. melanurus strictly for the fact that I have 6 clams. Hope that helps

I have a six line and a squamosa clam together with no problems. In fact, it ignores the clam. My bristletooth tang (Tang Police: it is a 75g

) likes to clean algae off the clam's shell.

I have heard some wrasses are not good with clams but the two you listed are fine. I think the most problematic fish for clams are angels both regular and dwarf.

They should be fine as long as the tank isn't too deep. So, what's the tank size?

I've similarly only heard bad things about mixing blennies and clams or certain types of gobies and clams. But not wrasses.
