The Suncoral I bought recently seemed to have some sort of wierd growth on it. This brown thing is growing out from the side of one my heads. Pics below. I worried this is some sort of parasitc growth.

Is it a worm or is it stationary?

I have something the same/similar growing on my micromussa. It seems not to bother the micro but is ugly. I decided to cut it off and its growing back. No clue what it is.

Soft and thin walled (skinned). Can inflate and deflate to some extent almost like a Bubble Tip Anemone

It feels soft, but rigid. It looks like a branch. It's growing out from a black dot in the tissue.

Wow that kind of looks like raw ginger.
Must be some type of sponge. Have not seen it before myself though.

tennowataru agree with the above that is a vermetid. Take a pair of tweezers and just break it off.

i wouldn't just see how it goes after that. Try to get as close to the base as possible. You will find that it is a hard tube if indeed a vermetid. Not too hard to snap off with tweezers but hard enough to snap so get close to the base.
