Ok, so a few weeks ago I noticed my maroon clown's tail deteriorating slightly, with a few small horizontal indents in its back tail. I fed him a bunch, 2 days later, tail was back to normal, and has been ever since. At the same time, I also noticed 2 or 3 very, very, tiny white dots on his body, like the size of pin heads. I was told but someone on NR that white dots/fuzz on the fishes body could also be from tail rot. But the fishes tail has grown back to normal, and these small whites dots are still present. I've noticed the white dots for a few weeks now, but have not seen them spread, and my other fish in the tank (a wrasse) looks totally fine. What exactly is this, and should I be concerned?

Water parameters are all perfect.

Ok, I woke up this morning and part of his pectoral fin was missing. It is possible that my wrasse nipped it but it could also just be either the tail rot, or ich. I want to setup a quarantine for him, any recommendation on what meds to use?

Can you snap a picture. Sounds like it is getting picked at by something.

Going to snap a photo and post it today.

Here are some pics:

..

Just figured I'd add this last one because the flasher wrasse looks sweet

You can see it best on his pectoral fin, but when I was taking these pics I also noticed some deterioration on his side fins..the side fin may be tough to see. I'm just not sure if this is tail rot, or my wrasse picking at him, but from what I see about wrasses, they are peaceful...

You can also see the super TINY, 3 or so white dots in the second pic, on the left side of his body.

Ok so what Ive done in the past to treat fish with injuries or pest have been to load them up with frozen foods(Ive used frozen adult brine and some marine cuisine carnivore diet). The best stuff you can give um, seems that it boosts up their immune. As one say a fat fish is usually a healthy fish or some thing like that. I also double dose with prime condition to replace slim coat and remove an chemicals that could stunt the healing. Worked with white spot and injuries.

Editt::: I also feed my fish several times a day when this stuff happens. I make sure their belly is always filled.

(my fish mouth was torn off and hanging on by a thread but some how heal perfectly I dont f-ing get it one bit)

Hope this helps.

Yea the first time I noticed his tail deteriorating a little, I fed him some extra flakes, and the next day it already started to fill back in. I was told by some people that poor diet doesn't have to do with deteriorating tails or fins, but who knows...

Well what i was saying keeping the fish well fed will help with the recovery and healing.

Def. will feed him a little bit extra and we'll see what happens. The white dots haven't really spread on him at all, and his fins are already a little bit better today, so it seems like he's fightin real hard. Just hope I don't have to put him in a hospital tank, what a pain in the a** that would be.

Very tiny white fuzzy dots on the body are also a sympton of tail rot though right?
