I have just leak tested my tank today and ran the pump with freshwater to give it a test run and the elbow which returns the water to the tank keeps falling off.
What can i do to secure this piece. I dont want to glue it due to having access to cleaning it in the future.
Thanks
Chris

Zip tie it. Mines been running for almost 2 months like that.

I can ziptie the hose to the elbow but where the elbow inserts the tank it slides into the hole where the diffuser is on the inside of the tank i can figure out how to keep it in there tight. It has alot of play in it.
Thanks

on my 24nc I never had the elbow and instead ran a larger pump MJ1200 with a OD hose small enough to fit *through* the bulkhead - it runs flush to the outside edge and the nozzle still fits on just fine - water flow is great no problem.

Good idea, im gonna have to try and find a hose that fits that.

Yeah this happened on my current 12dx. It's a real annoyance for sure. I just used some super glue gel, which still doesn't always work.

Reef putty perhaps as a semi-solution?

I was thinking about using the gel glue but it would be difficult to remove it if i want to clean it out in the future or change the pump it would b difficult 2 get 2.
i'll have to figure somethin out.
Thanks for all your input, i'll let you guys kno what i wind up doin.

I am actually having this same problem. It's really annoying. Does anyone know if it is possible to just replace their plumbing with a loc-line or something similiar?

yes you can replace with some loc line fittings, check out the link in my signature to my tank page, I have a photo and description of what I did in the first post.

It came out nice, im just not a big DIY type of guy, id rather keep the stock fitting and find a way to attach the elbow and make a tight fit. Id be scared of cracking the back wall.

Any others that have this problem?

Just wrap teflon pipe tape around the fitting to make a snug fit.

I'm using a zip tie to hold mine. It had a lot of play, but the zip tie has been holding for about 10 months so far.
