If it is eating and breathing ok, its fine. Clowns can be weird fish. After you have it for awhile, you will figure out its behavior and then you will be able to tell if it is acting strange.
*edit* because my keyboard sucks

I know my clown does that, don't have a clow though so I can't comment on that.

Both mine sleep in the top corner sucked against the overflow grate
normal but wierd as they wiggle out of the water as they sleep - moving Gonipora over to them soon to entice them down

Mind usually pics a corner at the bottom or a dent in the rock, lies on his side and wiggles likes he's dying. But he's still alive, and acting normal every morning. I guess he's just comfy and dreaming?!? Good luck if you were to survive in the wild buddy!

my clown is always hovering around my vortech. Lately he is behind it by the return nozzel against the back wall until I drop a pellet in, then he comes right up and eats it

Mine does that too. The first night I thought he was sick and did a 50% water change at 4am... Couldn't find any info on what was happening online, until I searched "clown fish sleeping."
Now he does the same thing, but against the filter housing.

My perc lays flat on the sand! There's a perfectly good frogspawn, plate coral, and bunch of shrooms he could snuggle in but he prefers the sand. The first time I saw it I thought he was dead but he has been doing it for awhile now.
