Today as I looked in the back of my first rear chamber I noticed alot of pods on top and in the sponge. I used a turkey baster to get some back int he main tank but there is a bunch of them just moving around in there. Has this happened to anybody else? I have a jbj 12g nano cube with a surface skimmer.

Its normal. Nothing to worry about. In fact its a good thing it will give the fish in your main display something to much on.

They will get into the display on their own.

k thanks, should anything be done to get the pods out of the sponges when I take them out the rear chamber to replace with filterfloss. Im hoping there won't be much side effects of removing them and the activated carbon because I have nothing in the tank yet. I highly doubt the guy before me cleaned them or changed them for a couple of months ohmy.gif .

just shake the sponge in the water or try to slowly raise it (so that the pods have time to crawl off). Most hitchhiker pods are herbivores/scavengers, so they may not be inside the dark areas of the filter floss in large numbers, anyway.
