hey all
been watching the 10gal contest gave me a idea.the wife freak when i told her the price of the biocube plus mods.so i'll try the 10gal alot cheaper.trying to pick the lighting.the dual satellite has a 20" 80watt is this to much for a ten.i like to grow some assies if possible.up for some input from anyone.my budget is 500.Have the tank all ready one of my freshwaters.

You can never have "too much" light, you can only have an "unsafe" ammount of light biggrin.gif If i were you I would get the 70 watt fishneeedit metal halide, more light for less watts.

What are "assies"? All I can think are "aussie acans"....

Watts per gallon is an outdated standard, as the metal halide fishiecj mentioned would be much more intense than the 80W power compact fluorescent of the satellite.

I still use the dual 40W satellite on my 10G and it's great. Although, you're looking at changing the lamps every 6 months or so.
