Exactly, they "may" form a symbiotic relationship , keyword is "MAY".. What I am asking for is whether anybody has personal experience to advise me about this species..I should have made that more clearer and more understandable..my apologies..If anyone out there has any experience with keeping these critters and have any info on this species(or web links) it would be appreciated..

thats with any pistol..........

depends on where they're collected, some region's pistols do not form symbiosis. Unless you're sure of its origin and history, I would advise caution.

The "may" is the key word. As Plainrt said with all pistols they may or may not pair. Just like clowns may or may not pair with nems or powerheads or rocks.... laugh.gif

The best thing to do if you want to be sure is to buy an already established pair. They have them on Live Aquaria all the time in the divers den section or wait to find a pair locally.

Here is a good one depending on tank and budget:

And if had deep pockets this pair is sweet........

That is a sweet looking goby.

Yes, Alpheus bisincisus will pair with some shrimp gobies. IIRC, yellow watchman gobies will pair with them.

Thank you very much lakshwadeep, that is all I wanted to know lol..I appreciate it as its kinda hard to find info on different species of pistols for some reason, it all seems so generic(the info), but your experience tells me the truth.thanks

Hahaha... that sucks. Guess he thought he was better off on his own. No more symbiosis.

It also depends on whether you can correctly identify the pistol. I suggest buying a goby and shrimp already paired even at a higher premium.
