Just got my MAG12. This thing is heavy, lol. Anyhoo, how are you supposed to position it? The instructions that come with it don't really tell you anything. Should it be on it's side, with the outlet horizontal, or can it be upright, with the outlet straight up? I will be using it submerged. It feels a lot sturdier/more stable when laying down, with the outlet horizontal.

do it horizontally. if your pump ever disconnects from the pipe it wont spew water everywhere.
also im hoping you have a big return area for that thing...
Best Wishes! biggrin.gif

that is a great point. I didn't even think of that. Ya I have a pretty big area for it. I dry fit everything and it fit ok.

i would point the outlet straight up. one less elbow to reduce flow.

if you have the hose properly installed with clips or fasteners, you shouldnt worried about it coming off and spraying water everywhere.

I'm doing all glued joints with rigid pvc. Putting unions in key places for removal. The pump is physically much taller than it is wide. It doesn't feel super sturdy standing upright.

lol, this is very true. I'm gonna take another look to see how I can position it.
