I bought two baby tank raised ocellaris clowns for my 14gal BC from our LFS about 2 months ago. I have a really nice piece of Torch, a nice piece of galaxy, some GSP and Xenia but they do not seem interested in hosting in any of them. Is this common for tank raised clowns or should I consider getting a different type of coral for them? Is there any way to coax them into any of them? To be honest, they haven't come close or shown the least bit of interest in hosting. They continually do the male/female shimmy dance together so they seem to have some natural instintcs but the hosting thing has been a bust. Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks

I had the same problem with my tank raised Percs...So I bought a Bubble Tip Anemone and they ignored it for six months...I posted pics on the side of my tank of other Percs hosting in the nems...And two weeks later they both were hosting...
Also try feeding around your torch coral...And that might lure them to at least go in that area...Hope it helps..Good Luck

My clown doesn't seem to care about anything except my Koralia and the output of my filter pump. I have a full stalk of Torch and tons of GSP, kind of like you, but he could care less. I'm not really worried, he has been happy for months. I am in the market for a small RBTA to see if he likes it, but half the reason is that I just want my first anemone.

That's funny that you posted a pic and then they started hosting:-) Good stuff. Thanks everyone for you input. I guess time will tell if they will ever get the urge to host.
