Hi,

Have anyone here used SSC P7 for lighting?

I'm think of designing a complete new LED LITE fixture with 20~ 24 pcs of 12W LEDs w/o len . For Pure White, I'm consider using 10~12 pcs of SSC P7 but I have difficulty sourcing 12 pcs of 5 ~12W Royal blue/blue (455~465)LEDs.

Can anyone advice which brand and model selling in market?

Thanks.

No-one has a colored LED in that power range that I'm aware of (at least that's worth a damn).

Going with higher output LEDs like that and the Cree MC-E (might actually be a better choice than the P7), will change how you work with them. For shallower tanks, the fixture will have to be mounted much higher off the tank, or the current reduced to drop the intensity. For deeper tanks, you can get away without optics. You will still need 3W royals to support them, and they will still have to use optics to reach the same performance levels as the 12W LEDs at certain distances and depths.

Hi evilc66,

I would like to use all 12W White and Royal without optics if possible to create a more nice, simple and neat fixture but performance will not be comprised as to benefit the corals. Since it's not possible, I may go ahead using combination of 12W White and 3W Royal during my inital design plan.

Thanks.
