I'm trying to find a Solana 34G Tank only or tank and equipment only minus the stand and lighting.

Are all the 34G Solana Tanks Starfire Glass?

Has anyone come across some good deals or point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Current USA more or less only sold the starphire versions to LFS' with the intention of being used as display tanks to show off the Solana and bring sales. They really weren't released to the general public, although some LFS' just sold the ones they got from Current to customers as I'm fairly sure they cost the same to the store as the regular versions did.

I've not personally seen the tank only being sold, with or without equipment.

Edit: I'd love to get my hands on a starphire (or regular) Solana m'self someday, either gonna be that, JBJ 28g, or BC29.

I like my JBJ 24 except for the fact it changes everything to a green hue.

I've seen the BC and it looks like they have a nicer glass that doesn't seem green at all.

I found that one to. I'm wondering how much clearer the glass is if it's not starfire? I'd hate to spend the money and have the same green tint.

I'm in no rush, but if I find a killer deal and no more changing the color of my corals/mushrooms I'd jump on it.

I have blue clove polyps all over my tank and they look purple, but if you look through the water above they're a real nice blue. Same goes for my other corals, they're better looking over the top rather then through the green glass.

That diff look from the top as opposed to horizontally could also be just the angle at which the zooxanthellae (sp) shows through its best colors, just my .02 though.

All the colors of the corals look different. It's a bit disappointing because I did have a 125G TruVu a few years ago, but it was to much work.

I could go to a bigger and acrylic tank, but I like the cube and I think the Solana is the biggest I can get on my stand as a cube anyways.

I'm trying to fend off some hair algae right now. It's not spreading anymore and the growth has slowed. I tried going 2 weeks on water changes and it was to much I think without a skimmer???

I've had both, basically, they look the same, IMO starphire is an advantage in bigger tank where the thickness of the glass is bigger.

however current is only making starphire tanks now f im not mistaken so no biggie...

for the price you cant go wrong.
