Many people say that lettuce sea slugs are difficult to take care of. This is not true! dry.gif They are not poisenous and they do eat hair algae. Actually they cultivate hair algae. They eat the top part and let it grow back so they will never starve. Also, they are not nudibranches, they are slugs. I have one and its been doing just fine. Powerheads can potentially kill them, but I've never had a problem with them.
If you do not have hair algae, don't get one! rolleyes.gif
P.S. THEY ARE REEF SAFE AND WILL NOT EAT YOUR ZOOS

I thought they only ate Bryopsis, not Hair Algae.
The one I had certainly ignored my Hair Algae.

"Slug" is a broad, non-scientific term. Sacoglossan is a more specific term. Weetie is correct about them eating Bryopsis.

i've had mine for over a month and its been thriving. I have heard that they only eat bryopsis, but I guess It depends on the specific creature... mine is all over it smile.gif

What tried to eat them? They look like something rock crabs would like to peck at. I have some algae I'd like them to eat, but I hear that they won't eat it (redish turf algae) and am worried that a Xathid crab in my tank will kill it.

I dont have crabs so I dont know about that...
The algae youre talking about is somthing they wont eat unfortunaltly...( i have it too)
How big is the crab???
If its smaller then an 1 1\2 inches it should be fine...
