I was wondering what are the chances of my LED light of catching on fire? I was wondering if the LED light I bought will catch on fire? My parents are worried that a LED fixture can cause a fire because its not ul listed.

Probably pretty slim, as long as all the wiring is clean and well insulated, it should be fine. What light is it and how are you using it?

Just remember even if it has a UL listing, unless it's 100% water proof it is never UL approved for use over an open top aquarium.

You have more of a chance starting a fire with a T5 or metal halide than with LEDs. Running at low voltage and low current elliminates 99% of any fire issues. You know that metal halides use about 800-1200v to fire right? Is that more or less of a fire hazard than 24v DC?
