My new clownfish are completely ignoring eachother. I bought them as a mated pair...
The female is always in or near the nem and the male at the other end of the tank. Once when the male got too close to the nem, the female divebombed him.
Is this normal?
Will they be friends ever or will they always behave this way?
I thought "mated pair" ment friends...

Saw this was unanswered figured i would jump in.
Mine did the same thing, female took over the nem and would run the male out.
They eventually started hosting together again, so it might just take time.
Did they have a nem where they were before? If they didnt that could be the reason.
Give them time, keep an eye on them and hope for the best, clownfish are a pain sometimes

EDIT: WOAAHH, just saw your other thread on them, im guessing they DID have a nem at one point if they were wild caught. Theres a lot of variables to this one, were they mated pair in the ocean, in a tank at a fish place, did they have a nem at the fish place while mated pair etc.
Also they are a species i have never dealt with that tend to be more aggressive.
Keep an eye on that male, check for tattered fins, a little chasing here and there is ok, but a full on beating is not good.
