plankton is a general term used to describe the small-microscopic organisms that live in the ocean. there is ZOOplankton and then there is PHYTOplankton. corals eat both of these organism.

secondly... i dont find it funny at all. its a new discovery and it should be reported thusly.

i know what SPS eat. i also know what softies eat. a lot of softies eat phyto.
FYI i worked at and LFS an i know that phyto doesnt do anything but feed filter feeders and some softies.
what i feed my SPS are oyster feast and Coral frenzy. i dont really doest Phyto anymore because i researched and found out that corals dont really need phyto. so dont conclude things without knowing what i know first.

Dunno, re-reading this thread my money's still on the kid that oozed condescension then followed it up with the same and a side of foot in the mouth. But that's just me

coming from a marine ecologist (me ):
planktonic organisms are ones that live in the water column and yet cannot swim strongly enough to control their overall movement (ie: they are carried by the currents of the sea). this includes phytoplanton and zoaplankton (and bacterioplankton).
somehow i remember the textbook definitions for some of this stuff
