i bought a nice big head today. from robert.

looks way better then i expected. he doesnt carry as much dendros has i hoped (mainly cuz their so rare) but when he does its the best.

ok i just fed it pellets and it ate all of it. it still looks hungry with its tentacles fully extended.
my main question is can i feed it more then once per day? i know a lot of people out there feed their dendro everyday with great results but is it a good idea to feed it multiple times a day?

once should be enough but I've fed mine a few times a day with pretty much the same results...except added nutrients and such introduced in the tank. so maybe if you miss a few days or something but otherwise i wouldn't worry about it.

I didn't see this at first but if your feeding pellets I would say probably. I would switch from pellets to mysis shrimp tho.

I feed mine every other day with my fish and they seem to do great. . I feed mysis, brine, and formula one. It also ate soem pygmy angel formula too. Dendros are great. Stay open much longer than the sun coral. Anyone know where I can find some more?

Congrats on your dendro. I love them as well. I have 2 colonies. The first one started out as 1 head and stayed that way for quite a long time . Then all of a sudden, it started to sprout like 10 heads all at once, like this:



They grew in to a nice colony. Here's pic of both, the one on the right is more pinkish in color and the one on the left is more orange-yellow. BTW, this pic was taken soon after they had eaten.



I feed them once a day and they eat almost everything, but they really like PE mysis shrimp. Good Luck with yours!

I feed mine little bits of the silverside i feed my BTA and it seems to really like enjoy those, keeps em full for a while. Not sure if thats the "proper" diet tho

i only fed pellets cuz im lazy and it takes too much time to prepare the frozen foods...
im thinking about silversides. but i heard krill is close to the diet? i got some mysis that i'll try later.

also its opens after 7PM... so if i keep feeding it early will it open earlier?

To be honest, I don't think they are picky eaters at all. But I do think keeping them well-fed helps them to grow new heads, imo.
