So I have to say that i've always had mainly LPS/SPS tanks and me newest creation is devoted to mainly clams and zoas as well as some softies (although i do have a couple of monti caps in there)

a great friend of mine wants to buy me a 14 packs of Rics for my upcoming birthday witch is great BUT.....I know that most shrooms are not too tolerant of high lighting and strong currents in witch I have both (250 watt MH and an mp10)

just wonder if rics would do ok in my tank cause i'll always take free coral!!

thanks guys

I've had rics all over the place and they've done fine. top by my 2x250, as well as in the sand. If your ric gets to much light, you'll see it starting to turn clear. If you keep them on the sandbed, you'll be happy.

Here's a pic of what my sandbed used to look like: http://reeftools.com/live/imcosmokramer/albums/3/11

Flow will be fine, but if you try to frag the ric and re-mount it, you'll need to put it in a styro cup with holes to let it attach. Slimy little buggers.

Rics can be mixed with various other mushrooms, just pay attention to how they expand in the day. Make sure they either have enough room to adjacent corals as they may defend and sting.

oh dude, they will add so much color to your tank!! I'm thinking of adding some to my nem tank.
