I am really leaning towards one of these for my 10g frag tank the area it needs to cover is 14x12. I would liek to see someones tank who has these so i can see the color i want a blue color i hate yellow.Will a 20k bulb have the same par as a 12k.

There is no difference in PAR between the color temps.

not to hijack, but since its sorta comparable, thought id ask. even tho the par is the same whether its a 20k or 12k lamp, is it like other types of lighting like t5s or mhs that lower the color temp, the more growth you will see since most of the beneficial light that the grows get is in the 12k range ish. not sure if that makes sense lol.

You answered your own question right at the beginning.

The reason 10K and 20K lamps have different growth rates is because of different PAR levels. 20K lamps (up until recently) have always been lower PAR than 10K. If the PAR is the same, the growth (technically) is the same.

Which is why leds kick butt

I think i might get it after i see how instense dhauts is. Would it work for a full 10g with sps.How high would i need to hang it.

One won't be enough. You would need two.
