What is rhe rule of thumb?

How many crabs and snails per galllon? I have 3 turbo snails. 2 nass. And one blue leg hermit. My brother in law just brought me some hermits from out af town. They are acclimating now. Will 5 crabs be to much?

I find the snails useless. The nass are hidding. And the turbos are all high on the glass to the point of being out of the water... But my crab is going to town on my LR.

Can I add the crabs and some more usefull snails? Diatoms si ugly stuff! I want it gone.

Ignore diatoms. They will go away. Be patient, when the snails get hungry they will go down. The nassarius does not eat algae, it eats leftover fish food, dead stuff, etc., so it's very helpful. I don't think 5 crabs will be too much but I hate mine.

What size is your tank? How long has it been cycled?

5 crabs now, give them a month or two they will start killing each other. I would say one or two at most if you have your heart set on hermits. If you have a sump or refugium the crabs would be better off there.

Nass don't eat algae, they are carnivore/detrivore

3 turbo's are probably overkill in a nano.

reefcleaners.org. Go there and get outfitted with CUC properly.
