Hi, I've been cycling with cured rock since 2nd November. I have a shrimp in the tank and checking the Nitrite and Ammonia and both are on zero. Nitrate is on 10ppm.

Is the tank on track?

Is it actually cycled and I can now do a big water change?

Thanks in advance.

I live shrimp, or a dead shrimp?

If the rock was already cured, you're probably not going to see a cycle. You could probably do a water change and add a small CUC but it wouldn't hurt to be patient and wait either.

I barely saw a cycle with my tank, but let it run for 3 weeks anyway. JIC

I used Cured liverock from the somewhat LFS (little over an hour away), waited 2 weeks then added my CUC. It did have a small cycle, then the algae/diatom bloom etc...

Thanks for your replies.

The shrimp is a dead one. Threw it in to cycle the tank. That's probably what's causing the Nitrates!

The problem with my tank is that i have to transfer my fish from one tank to another tank asap.

Remove whatever is left of the dead shrimp. You didn't need it with cured live rock, and its rotting can cause increases in disease organisms.
