Is there a genreal listing of light requirments for corals? i wantto make sure I have enough light out put for them and which ones. I have dual bulbs. One is a 10000k and the other is a 7100k. Thanks

What kind of bulbs, it makes a huge difference, I'm guessing pc's? Either way I'd recommend some actinics, any corals under those bulbs are going to look pretty brown...

7k is fine for plants not coral. 10k + is what to aim for... actinics help as well

Assuming your using pc's, get a 50/50 bulb and you will enjoy raising softies and some lps. Without that actinic spectrum you're missing out!

Kelvin rating is only useful for judging "color temperature" and the general spectrum of a bulb. So, +1 to what kind of bulbs.

The bulbs are together as one. One is a blue light and the other a day light. Together It is a 105 watt bulb system. It came on my new 28g nano cube.

I forgot to add that watts (units of power) are also not clear indicators of light quality. However, since you indicate it was a nano cube, you're likely talking about power compact fluorescents. So, your lights would be considered low to possibly medium light for a 28 gallon tank.

So if I want corals I need to get the ones that call for low to medium lighting. I do not want to pay for something that will not be able to live well.
