Keep in low light med flow?
Lawnman
If that is a Idaho grape I keep mine in high light med flow and it does great.
fiction101
That's an echino/chalice. You can see all the eyes on it.

How much did you pay for it by the way? That's a huge colony.
organism
Echinopora lamellosa, they prefer lower bluer light with low to medium flow, very nice color on that one!
BobbyL1212
dats gnarly!
Lawnman
Ow sorry I thought it was something different. Chalice is not my thing.
BobbyL1212

Thanks for the help. Can always count on it here.
I would rather not say what I paid. It was probably too much but I wanted it and you know how that goes with keeping corals. lol
I will keep it on the sand bed for now. The lighting is 150wt Phoenix and 2x24wt actinic over Finnex 30 cube.
I have been looking for a plate type coral for a shelf at the top, but this is not the one.
Can they be acclimated to high light over time? Iffy?
Lawnman
Frag that baby up and make some money. Then get you a monti cap for the shelf look.
BobbyL1212
Chalices are the Rolls-Royce of corals these days. You probably paid appropriately!
Lawnman
I guess I am still driving a escort then since I like Zoas.LOL

lol. I wouldn't know the first thing about fragging it.
All I have seen are red or green. Once I locate a purple, that is what is going on the shelf. Room is really tight in the tank, as I am sure everyone can understand, being nano-reef web site, so red or green caps just won't work out. That is all I can find locally.
Wonder if there are yellow caps? Even pink. Wishful thinking.

There are, it's what happens when you put a green or an orange too close to the light when the water's too clean wink.gif
