This little coral apeared on this rock after it was in my tank for about 8 months. If it helps at all this rock is from bali.

Its alittle smaller than a dime now.
It retracts in to a hard skeleton.
Its growing on a tiny stem, the head is not atached to the rock.
The tenticles are not only around the mouth but go all the way to the edge of the head.
Its red with six white stripes running from the edge to the center.

It is a baby fungia and congratulations you have a plate growing site.. LEAVE IT ALONE. Do not touch it, do not try to take it off the rock it will fall off when its ready. All you need to do is feed it. Small pellet food works well. After this one falls off another one will sprout out of that spot on the rock. When it falls off leave it in the sand. The stripes are normal and a very pretty pattern. Plates come in different patterns and colors.

See here for more pictures and info on plates http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...=177997&hl=

If you have specific questions let me know and I will try and help you.
