I'm going to a local frag swap tomorrow, and plan to pick up a few things to add to my 12g Cadlights. Here's what I've been looking at that they already have at the store (and that will supposedly be on sale at better than usual prices):

frogspawn
torch
duncans
acan lords
various zoas
snowflake clove polyps

Anything in there problematic for a 3-month-old tank, or any compatibility issues? I know about the sweepers on the LPS stuff. Current corals in the tank two mushrooms, an orange sea rod, briareum, and various palys.

I don't recommend the frogspawn/torch combo. Tank is too small, once they start to grow it would take a herculean effort to keep them off of each other.

3 months is still kind of young, maybe focus on zoa's and softies (snowflakes) mostly and maybe the frogspawn. Torches are super aggressive and I would hate to have to try and keep it in line in a 12g

Oh, yes, I was mostly thinking one or the other as far as the torch/frogspawn were concerned...

were you live were the frag swap..?

+1 to the frogspawn then. Especially if you can score a metallic one. Those look awesome.

I'd say stick to zoas and mushrooms, maybe some other softies until your tank and you are better able to handle other stuff. I like monti's as a next step because they are well behaved and pretty easy to grow and look more advanced than they really are.
