As the title states..ID please.

This is from my step-mothers 150g.
I started reefing later than she did and already I know more than her :s I am trying to teach her about how to keep easy coral but she doesn't listen.

Lights are kept on for 4 hours a day, and there are no power heads besides the ones from the return pump. Looking into the tank there is no movement unless its from the fish.

Anyway here is the thing in question.

I think it is gsp that has just lost its color because of the light being only turned on for 4 hours a day, but idk for sure.

Edit: In the picture it almost looks like the tips are shining, really they are not, it's because of my crappy phone camera sad.gif

I am 99.99999% sure that that is gsp...

I just wish somehow I could convince her to leave the lights on so her corals can color back up. All the corals in the tank (not too many because they die) are brown.

you try showing her pics of what its suppose to look like?

buy her a timer so she doesnt have to mess with the lights, if you automate it and make it easy for her, maybe shell leave the lights on

Just kick her in the teeth and take her 150g!

jk

the timer idea seems ideal!

This tank is an example of listening to the LFS and not being a member on NR biggrin.gif

The tank has been up and running for 5 years!

well could be brown star polyp, yeah get her to do better lighting hours
TJ_Burton
It is a Briareum sp. (encrusting gorgonian)

So yes it is a type of star polyp. I wouldn't say it is green though...
