Hello,

I've read that some people are using Aqua Lifter as a dosing pump. For those who are using it, how is it doing so far ? Is there any point of attention when using it ?

Thanks in advance for your response !

it has been consistant for me for the couple of months that ive used it.
just be sure that you are testing the amount it doses once it is already in place because when you move the reservior or the outlet it will change the amount being dosed

Thanks doctaq ! I'll make sure I'll test it when in place.

Doctaq, or anyone else, could you please give me the measurements of the pump ? Thanks in advance !

I'm not sure what you mean, do you mean the physical measurements? If so you can probably find those online...

If you are using it to dose kalk I recommend using the filter you can buy for the aqualifter. It will keep the kalk sediment from clogging up the pump. The pump works very well, but will occasionally (maybe every 6 months) need to be cleaned depending on what you are dosing. It's not too hard to open up and clean, just a few really tiny parts you need a tweezer for. wink.gif

I'm gonna use it for calcium and alk supplementation that comes in liquid form.

Yep, i'm talking about the physical measurements, I haven't found anything online, that's why I'm asking.

Is there any chance that this will create a siphon dump whatever you are dosing into the tank or other way around?

Imho, the best way to use one is before the product you want to dose. Pump in top-off water, etc.., into the product reservior, then out to the tank. That way, the pump lasts a lot longer and you won't have to replace diaphragms as often. This does require the product reservoir to be air/water-tight.

And, FYI, air/liquids can pass through if the pump is off. I'm not sure if this only happens with used diaphragms or not, but either way, you want to protect yourself. Just have a siphon break somewhere on the output to tank.
