Hey all, I used to post in the pico section, but it got too hard, so I put it all back into my BC and been keeping it up since then. I thought I would give some pictures. I'll post some older ones (I'll take new ones once I get my 10000k bulb in), and I think at both have been edited a little. But, it'll give a good idea of whats going on with it. By the way... I mean, if I CAN get the pictures to work. It's been a while since I've been on here... can't promise I remember how it all works.

I do have one problem though. I'm starting to get some red "stringy" algae growing over part of my star polyps and in the sand. How can I get rid of this before it goes crazy and takes over. I know like feeding less and things will help, but does anyone have a GREAT suggestion?

Thanks!

And by the way the only real upgrades are: some chaeto in the back, some carbon, and the nanotuners lighting upgrade (3.24 i think... did it about a week ago).

the snot algae I was referring to is generally brown but it may be the same and it's called dinoflagellates...nutrient export and phosphate limitation along with sucking it out with a turky baster did it for me...

I think the problem is my tap water I use. I "Treat it", and there's no way I can afford a RO system. I'm a poor college kid tongue.gif ... I water change (2 gal) bout once every 2 weeks... have always done it like that, and it has worked until now... I blow the algae off, and suck it up with the baster.. but it always grows back.

Shewwww...

Just get either the distilled water or purified water from the grocery stores. walmart has a machine, onceyou get the gallon jugs filled the first time refills are less than 50 cents. This is what I'm doing. I sold my RO DI unit with all my other reef gear years ago so now I'm back to buying one thing at a time...
