I am getting a new powerhead for my Biocube 14 and I want to know which one you suggest the Koralia 1 has more more but would that be too much flow in th small tank?

I would go with the 1, the nano puts out so little flow. The only advantage to the nano is its size. What are you stocking in the tank? Do your stocking choices need high flow?

#1 is fine. It is a very soft disbursed flow. nano would also work if you wanted to save a little space.

It will have 2 true percs and mainly soft corals( zoas, rics, mushrooms)
Anyone have experience with Ahloha Aquariums they have crazy cheap prices just wanted to know if they are any good?

Considering you keep soft corals, I'd definatly go with the nano (based on size alone). JMO

how bout 2 nanos for a more dispersed flow

If you don't mind the look
I would just replace the stock pump and go with one extra pump. The koralia will move water around nicely

But 2 smaller powerheads seems more efficent of goiving flow to the whole tank than one large one. Also the only reason i want a alot of flow is so that i dint have to do anything to the back chambers. Except for one of those inTank media racks.

two nanos would work great for a better area of flow, and they allow you to create different flow from different areas. that sounds like the best idea

go with the nano for the 14 g tank. I have one in my 28g...bit undersized, but i have two others rate a bit higher than the nano...
I just like how small the nano is
#1 might look too big in your tank.

The 1 does look big, but it will create more than enough flow through out the tank.

And with 2 power heads i can always hook them up to a wave maker.

only if you get the DC version
It's up to you but this is a small tank, less pumps the better IMO

2 nanos or 1 k1... more differential water-flow the better

The 1 definitely looks too big. I put one in my 12g dx and it was way oversized for my liking. Took it out after 3 days.

I've had many diff pumps, and have a nano in my kids 6G eclipse. I think the perfect small pump for your tank would be the Seio P320, small, and lots of flow. Much, much more than the nano, I actually took it out of the 6G, and put it in a 30G. and its pretty small too. Its 2.5"x1.5"x1.9" and 320gph. the Koralia 1 is 400gph, but 2.125"x5"

1. Can you put 2x-K-nanos on a wavemaker?
2. Even with 2, is that enuf flow? I wouldnt think so in a 14G.
the K-nanos are really weak with flow imo.

well i think the two koralias would be better than 1 big power head

I had the same problem and i ended up getting the 1 and I'm glad i did. Even considering adding a nano with the 1.

honestly, it depends what you plan to keep, but i would go K-2...
i have a k-1 in my 12" cube and its still not really quite enough...

Wow I guess there are alot of conflicting opinion on this. I was just going to buy a nano for my ap12. Already have the mj900, but I have a dead spot on the right side of the tank. I was really hoping the nano would do the trick ...but I guess not after reading this. The k1 would look

Just buy a nano and mod it. It puts out as much flow as two unmodded Nano's. I have a few of them that I modded and they kick ass now.

I have two nanos in my BC29 and prefer it over the K1 I used to have.

I'm wondering this too...
If I have the maxi900 and get a Nano K and modify it, will it be enough flow for mushrooms, rics, and zoas? Ultimately, that's all I want for my biocube14. I am worried a K1 is too big and too much flow and will knock things around.

while were discussing powerheads what about the MP10, does it preform like the price says it should or is just a glorified wavemaker.

Is the MP10 worth the money for such a small tank?

I've got two K1s in my 15L and my SPS and LPS look really happy.
