I'm starting planning of my new 90gal tank for which i'm looking at a DIY plan for a skimmer. this is the one i'm looking at for now - http://www.podzilla.us/drewsskimmer.html . i have 2 questions about this. my first question is about a venturi. i see everyone buying venturies however can i just use the venturi that came with my MJ1200? i would use the pump to draw the water from my fuge into the skimmer. my second question is, has anyone heard of or done something like this also with airwood at the bottom of the intake column for exta bubbles? i would run an air pump (obviously) down along the intake water line to the bottom of the inner pipe. comments and thoughts?

IMO that would be too small for your size tank. Take a look at the MSX160 and up or this DIY I built
