Full Version: What's up with my YWG?

I noticed the other day that my YWG had some sort of whiteish looking growth/spot on the underside of its left gill. I'm not very familiar with saltwater fish diseases so it's hard for me to identify. I know what ich looks like on a freshwater fish and if it is anything like that, this is not ich.

I have three pep shrimp and have recently been trying to clean whatever it is. The goby lays on his side to let them do this but eventually he gets fed up and swims away. He also looks a little paler than usual but that started before I noticed this and from what I read it is not uncommon for them to change color. He doesn't seem lethargic at all and is acting no different than he always has.

Not having the greatest camera makes it difficult to snap a decent photo of a swimming fish but this is the best I could do, hopefully someone can help me out.

i dunno what ich looks like on the gills but marine ich is supposed to love the gills. they are supposed to get red i believe and he will be opening his gills/mouth 80x a minute. on the body it just looks like white dots especially when your fish just wakes up cause they attack while they're sleeping. could be just his jaw was injured or could be fungus or something. he will most likely start scratching if he has ich.
