Ok i'm making this post for a buddy, newbie tank owner of mine..Just bought a red sea max 130d (34 gallon) and he just sent me a message and pic, there is a several inch crack starting at the top of the tank...he has it full with water, and 40 lbs of rock...he said its gotten bigger...What can he do?
Orphicdragon
Nothing. Tell him to get a bucket and BAIL BAIL BAIL get the rock into a rubber maid container or 5g bucket.

Get the water level LOWER than the crack ASAP
plainrt
I agree get it all into a big tote from walmart or something
rahorman
Yea I told him. Is something like this repairable?
Orphicdragon
Not really. He could replace the pane or silicone it. Replacing it is not cost efficient and silicone won't be anything more than a stop gap.

If its a new tank have him get with Red Sea
rahorman
Yea, wow. I told him to call Red Sea tom. Poor guy, first tank too. This is going to be a huge pain in the ass.

im going to give you some intrusctions ( do these)

1.)go to walmart and get a huge rubbermaid ( i mean big )

2.) wash out the rubbermaid container well

3.) turn off all powerheads for the next step

4.) siphon water fom the tank and remove pieces of lr and put them into the bucket as they become exposed to air

5.) after almost all the water and lr is into the rubbermaid put the heater and powerhead into the water

6.) if it is at all posable make sure all corals are ok and able to accept light

7.) take the rsm hood/ light and set it across the rubbermaid for light for the corals if it is not big enogh take the rubbermaid container cover and set the rsm light on top of it and trace out the lights and but the container top so that the light may shine though it and still sit on top of the rubbermaid

( also you need to remove the fish and cuc you might already have gotten that lol )
