Hey guys,

I did the proverbial no-no for aquariums. Got a fish without knowing a ton about it.

I got myself a Valentini Puffer fish , I know most of the "usual" information about it, but I cannot find a definitive answer if this specific fish gives off toxin into the water column. I know some puffers do, some don't, I would like to make sure.

Btw, this thing is living in my 120 Gallon tank, so size is not a problem (although, he's only about 1.75" long.

It will be living with a school of Bartlett anthias, 2 clowns, and a kole tang.

i had one. he was very well behaved but i heard they can nip. he ate pellets but you're supposed to feed them some small snails, shrimp with the shell on, etc so he can wear down his teeth every week or so. word is they are not reef safe and will kill inverts. as far as puffers go they are pretty mild. he was my favorite fish. great personality and smart.
