lol the grape caulerpa grows upwards and looks like da grasses...my sanbed is not deep enough for grass...it would look cool tho alas no room in a 10g methinx for grass

Well bad news Gurgle and Nibbles are in quarentine due to Ich
this is what sux about wild caught fish
On the 10th came home to find them covered in it and scratching like crazy. may have to get a cleaner shrimp if they make it...they are still eating so that is a good sign

tank will be fallow till February...with inverts only

Macros are growing wild...especially the prolifera!

Sorry about the ich... will keep my fingers crossed for the fish to pull through...

I got Nibbles from a LFS that is known for problems..should have known better. I will keep up with pix...I believe a FTS is due on the 15th

It was a blast! Too bad we only got half a day at Epcot. We wolk up at 4am and didnt get to Epcot till almost 3pm after the flight and checking into the hotel. The first thing I wanted to do was go to the Nemo and friends but I got outvoted . We did however get to eat at the reteraunt on the other side of the tank and one enitre wall was the huge tank where you can watch the sharks and rays and stuff. They even give you a fish ID thing to show whats in the tank. You gotta go see it when you go to MACNA 2010! The turtle talk with crush is fun too. He actually talks to the people in there (mainly the kids though).

i don't think it "browned out" from shipping, i think it's just blue at certain angles of certain lights.

Mine still has a little bit of that blue irridescence, and it really is intense as the pic organism posted.
Most of mine is still just as brown as yours, though.

I think we have the same red macro, the one with the little red bubbles in the first picture from yesterday.

guess we will have to wait

and on a compleatly diffreent topic do you have any advice for picking then caring for sponge. have always wanted some, tryed it once and nuked the tank. lost both of my clams and half of the lps. so, nervious to do it again. but upgreading and if its the first thing in, less danger. still scared that 6 months later it acts like a sea apple and goes boom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when picking a sponge make sure that it is intact, also make sure where you buy it from has not exposed it to air for a long period of time and not at all if possible.
I feed live phytoplankton a cap ful every other day.
I get it from a gal that gets it from a guy that makes it lol I need to read up and see if I can start making some myself!
what kinda sponge was it?

as a side not nibbles was what I was going to name my next clown fish, its one of my brothers nic names.





edit not a pic of the sponge i had pic i found trying to safe the one that nuced my tank. the one I had was about the size of my fist bout 3x3x4. same color.

wow that sux I have a few bits of that sponge too, so purdy.
also when you pick a sponge make sure that there are no white spots or that the sponge itself is not falling apart...i guess that is common sense tho...I have seen some sponges that are toh up at the LFS and they are still for sale.

Yep! tank is doing great! I know that the flourecent bulb versions are a bit more.

my LFS want $130... but they doing it as a pack with heater and starter stuff but its not evan the flourecent bulb version

Just a head shot would be impossible to tell, but agree with Maria here as it does look like a jawfish.

As you said though, with only a head shot difficult to tell. He does look mean , as does a dusky!
