Full Version: acrylic and silicone for looks?

im building my first acrylic tank the seams look pretty good not many bubbles at all but the weld on #4 ozez out on the inside of the tank and im worried it will be a could little unsightly would there be anything wrong with running clear silicone on the edges to hide this or anything else i could do thank you everyone

If it's the looks you're concerned with, I think adding silicone to the inside would look worse than any bits of acrylic in the joint...

why would that look worse all glass tanks have silicone on them

maybe you should of went to a glass tank instead if you want the silicone look.

running clear silicone will not hide anything. it will still show. your better off leaving it

ok thank you i was just curious i just built the tank bc i had some 1/4 acrylic scraps lying around so i thought i would give it a try
