what was his point of view on the product?

BIO-Spira doesn?t need to be refrigerated. Unlike other products based on live strains of bacteria, BIO-Spira is shelf-stable at room temperature, which means it's just as easy to store as it is to use.
Doesn't

his point of view was, if i bought the bottle today i could buy those 6 anthias i like by tomorrow!!!! How awesome is that!?!?! B/c he's had thousands of fish in his store and he always uses to for new tanks he sets up.

LOL thats a BIG No-No.
anthias need very stable water quality and need to be fed a lot.

yeah.. like you'd want to put such a heavy bioload in a nano all at once...

He has reasoning. I guess if you were to put like 6 athias in a tank at once it would be a better idea to use that than if not IF it didn't do wierd things to your tank. Before I found this website my LFS sold me 2 clownfish after the cycle finished. There was a nitrite spike, so he gave me some "Turbo-start 3000" and it fixed the problem within like 24 hours. My tank is fine, but I would definitely not do it again.

MikeTR- id never keep 6 anthias in a nano.... i have a 75 gallon also now....
Nemo niblets- i did read great reviews on turbo start

he wants to sell the fish, have them die, then blame you for something bad in your water, sell you some junk to fix it, then sell you more fish etc etc etc.
There are so many ####ty LFS owners out there and being forceful on an opinion like that would make me never return.
Ive seen a claim on a bag of live sand say use this sand today, add fish tomorrow. Just ridiculous.

Wow, quite a lot of negativity for a product most people here seem to have no experience with. Bio Spira (not spiral) is actually a pretty great product. I have had to use it twice in emergency situations where I had to have the tank cycle overnight with a green spotted puffer I had. It worked great both times, it does need to be refrigerated, and if used properly, and has never been able to warm up, it's awesome. I would never use it if I had time to wait, but like I said I had no other choice. I wouldn't force it on customers to sell fish more quickly though, which sucks and turned some people away from the product instead.

prime is good in an emergency situation, but if you have multiple tanks, sumps etc...a biowheel that is kept for the sole purpose of being stocked with bacteria all the time works like a champ. +1 to bio spira being kind of a waste. I used it, (or a similar product, I am pretty sure that is the one though), when I started out and the cycle took the same amount of time.

Nothing works like Bio Spira, anything that claims to have 'nitrifying bacteria' is a waste. I can't recall all the names of the products that claim to cycle your aquarium quickly, but none of them work.

Bio Spira is one of those products that claims to instantly cycle your aquarium because of nitrifying bacteria, maybe that is the product you are thinking of.
